Chocri

A few weeks ago I ordered some chocolate from Chocri!  They have a really cool concept; you get to make your own chocolate bar!  They have so many things to choose from, the possibilities are endless!  Candied lilac, strawberries, gold, nuts, sprinkles, etc you name it, they have it!  It took a while for it to get to my doorstep in Ontario, but it came all the way from Germany, so I was patiently waiting :) The chocolate itself is good, nothing spectacular, but it was good.  The only complaint I would have is that one of the two bars I ordered was jam packed with toppings and then the other had barely anything on it!

I suggest you take a look at their website as there are so many uses for their chocoalte bars.  Not only are they a great treat, they would be a wonderful gift or event wedding favour.  Like the toppings, the possibilites are endless :)

Click here to visit their wesbite!

Here is a picture of the two bars I ordered:

Top: Milk Chocolate w/ strawberry bits, roasted almonds, and mini hearts
Bottom: Milk Chocolate w/ caramel pieces and candied lilac

Importance of Breakfast

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day! It is such an important part of your diet and many people actually skimp on breakfast or skip it all together.  If you think of your body as a car, you would never try to drive the car when it has no fuel, right?  So why do that to your body?  Breakfast is important for brain function, those who eat breakfast daily will notice they are able to concentrate at school or work and they don’t have that morning fog or groggy feeling.  Breakfast also puts your metabolism in high gear.  If you think about it, your body has been without food for several hours while you sleep, so your body is in need of fuel!  Your morning meal will set the tone for the day and help keep your blood sugar levels steady.

This morning I am enjoying a bowl of fresh strawberries and some cottage cheese for protein.  It is absolutely delicious and better yet, it is FAST and EASY to prepare!

For those of you who do not eat breakfast, I challenge you to start!  If eating one big meal seems impossible or unappealing to you, try breaking it up.  Try a hardboiled egg or toast at home and yogurt with fruit at work or school.  Eventually you will see how breakfast is benefitting your life and you will want to have it each and every morning!

Have a wonderful day!

Welcome!

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to write a quick post on my new blog!  I have been inspired by Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution and I have decided to start a food blog.  My plan is to talk about my favourite foods, restaurants I like, my favourite dishes at those restaurants, recipes, and healthy eating.  I am sure there will be some fluctuation in what I discuss, but that should give you an idea!  I hope we can share our thoughts and opinions and share our foodie treasures!

Cheers,
